When you get back see if you can answer these qustions that we had to answer in class.

1. What is the Three Gorges Dam?

2. Why does Wang Zuolu have to move?

3. Explain in your own words how the dam might affect the animals and wildlife that live there.

4. Why is the fact that many dams in China have collapsed over the last 20 years significant?

5. What evidence can you list for this dam not being a good idea?

6. How does the Yangtze compare to other rivers you know about?

7. What solutions would you suggest for the dam project?

8. What do you think about the building of the Three Gorges Dam project?

The first city it visited was Varanasi. Varanasi according to Hindu beliefs is Shiva’s holy city. The Ganges river is also located in Varanasi. Their are over 100 stairs leading to the Ganges.

Then it visited Agra, India the town whee the Taj Mahal is located. The Taj Mahal was made by a Shah whose wife died after giving birth to her 14th child. It took 20,00 people and 22 years for the Taj Mahal to be completed.

Next we learned about Hindu ceremonies. In the Hindu religion

The Geta is the holy book.

Carma is what you do and keep on doing.

Krishna is a god with many forms. He is also very popular with the poor.

After that the movie had us travel to Corbett National Park. Corbett National Park has

Nearly 600 species of bird.

Was India’s first National Park.

Famous for its elephants, tigers, and leopards. (oh,my)
